I recently had served upon me an motion to claim exempt property. I don't have much but I am on title with my husband on our house. If I quick claim my share over to him will this prevent them from taking our house..if it comes to that?Just as back ground I am a sole proprietor broker for insurance and am being sued b/c I refunded a construction company's mony and refused to help them get insured since the owner would not provide information needed for the coverage to be binded. After getting his money back he filed claims that took place before I ever met or talked to him. I was cleared of any wrong doing by the department of insurance. But the guy has a fraudulent and dishonest nature and I just can't deal with folks like that (I think they have evil hearts) ..so basically I've been ignoring him...he got a default judgment for $498,000......HAHA!! And since I wouldn't be worth that much even in death...I just want to make sure I am not putting my family at risk of house foreclosure... Selling doesn't bother me b/c that a____ will go away long before we decide to sell...Thanks for any help you may provide...
