Dealing with HSBC - Ok my story may not gain the sympathy with a lot of people trying to deal with banks and their mortgages. As the house in question for my family is no longer the house we live in. Long story short. I got transferred to a job in a new state and was able to purchase a second home. since we relocated my partner has been out of work but will be starting again soon. But because of this we have fallen behind on our mortgage on the first home. The house is for sale but because of lots of reasons if it sells it will be a short sale. i managed to hire the realtor from hell as his new plan of action is that i should just allow the bank to foreclose. "Banks have folks to work on foreclosure they just aren't staffed for short sales" His words. I have submitted a hardship letter to HSBC asking for help due to even when my partner does return to work keeping up with the payments will be almost impossible we have had a lot of unexpected bills from the ordinary to medical. we are also now behind on his child support. Has any one been able to deal with any one at HSBC that actually knows what they are doing? I call weekly - and once I can get past the condescending folks who's only job is to collect your payment , I get the we are still working your request. It's been almost 2mts since i asked for help. the longer they take the more behind i will be. Also I’m really not sure what help i should be asking for. I don't live in the house and am actively trying to sell.. Changing realtor's at the moment but it's still listed. Would my best bet be to ask for a Deed in lieu of foreclosure? The Arm on the mortgage is getting ready to reset again. it already went from 7% to 10.5% I would really need them to adjust the rate down and lock it in if i was to even consider keeping the house and just renting it for the mortgage payment. there is no way at the current amount that i could get it rented and pay on what I’ve missed. the worry this is causing is affecting my life in more ways than I ever expected. Any advise on how I can get HSBC to at least respond would be appreciated |
